As part of the long-term cycle “Masterpieces of World Organ Art”, titular organist of the Kaliningrad Cathedral, laureate of international competitions Mansur Yusupov will perform in Minsk for the first time. On May 27, the musician will present the program “Inspired by Bach” to the public in the Great Concert Hall of the Belarusian State Philharmonic.

Mansur Yusupov began studying to play the organ at the Kazan State Conservatory named after N.G. Zhiganov in the organ class of R.Abdullin and the chamber ensemble class of L.Labzina. In 2018, Mansur graduated from the St.Petersburg State Conservatory named after N.A.Rimsky-Korsakov in the organ class of the Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Professor D.Zaretsky. In addition, the organist completed his studies under the assistantship-internship program at the St.Petersburg State Conservatory in the class of D.Zaretsky. Among the musician’s competitive awards: the title of laureate of the II All-Russian Music Competition in the specialty “organ” in Kazan, II prize and the audience sympathy prize at the X International Organ Competition named after M.Tariverdiev, I prize at the III International Organ Competition named after I.Braudo and others.

M.Yusupov took an active part in the Summer Organ Academies in Bosau, Leipzig (Germany), Graz (Austria), Amsterdam, Alkmaar (Netherlands). The musician also had a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the historical instruments of outstanding organ builders from the Renaissance to the Romantic era.

Since 2017, Mansur Yusupov has been the titular organist of the Kaliningrad Cathedral, where the largest organ in Russia and the only organ complex in the post-Soviet space, numbering 8,525 pipes and 122 registers, is installed.

The organist collaborates with such groups as the State Chamber Orchestra “Moscow Virtuosi”, the ensemble “Questa Musica”, the Moscow State Academic Chamber Choir, the Concert Choir of St.Petersburg, the Ural Academic Chamber Choir, the Kaliningrad Academic Symphony Orchestra. M.Yusupov performed at the Zaryadye Concert Hall, the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in Moscow, the Riga Dome Cathedral, the Great Hall of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic named after D.D. Shostakovich, etc. The organist included in the program of his debut performance in the Belarusian capital the works of Johann Sebastian Bach and masterpieces of composers of the 19th and 20th centuries, inspired by the work of the German master of the Baroque era.
